Last week I went out to the Hamptons to style a shoot with super talented Zev Starr.  We did some fun looks out on the road and in the studio.

Nothing says summer chic in the Hamptons like a dainty blue-striped dress with a little bow in the front.  I particularly like this feature because the front tie is actually adjustable so that you can really fix it to your torso size.  I completed the girly look with these amazing metallic oxfords I found at Zara for that contrasting dose of cool that I love.

Loving this top from Tantuvi.  A cool colorblock and print pattern that I can wear over and over in this steamy weather.  You know I am all about lightweight and comfort during the summer while staying stylish.  Same goes for these pants, which are so great for the office and still make the cut for dinner and drinks afterwards.  I fell for the pleats, because I feel like it's hard to find a good pant that's versatile but not boring.  And when I put them on, I loved them even more.  I wore this outfit with simple pumps and this amazing vintage bag.

 He was attracted to my accessories and I, his multichromatic stare.  
Sparks flew and we became instant friends.

Two of the best summer basics are denim shorts and a plain white tee.  A white tee can take you almost anywhere, whether it's paired with casual shorts, dressier skirts and pants, or layered under a dress or overalls.  It makes any look easygoing and casual-cool.  As for denim shorts, those are an obvious go-to for any leisurely summer day, where you may find yourself walking to the park, and exploring the quieter parts of the city.  The thing I love about these two pieces is that your options to accessorize are endless.  I picked up this headband at one of the many boutiques in Japan, where they are popular.  The gladiators are my shoes that will add some spunk to any outfit and keep things from looking plain.

PS- I was not harassing those children, contrary to what the photo may depict.  I swear, they were talking to me and telling me about the turtles that were skimming the surface of the algae-blanketed pond.  They liked me, really.

This is my second look from vacation in Puerto Vallarta.  Whenever I travel, I like to venture into town and see the people, the local shops, and take in the culture.  We had dinner on the boardwalk and I wanted something chic yet easy and comfortable, which is always a must on vacations.  These silk Linie NYC pants are both easy and comfortable, perfectly lightweight to withstand the humid heat, but elegant enough for a dinner out.  And wedges are a no-brainer for a dressy-yet comfy summer shoe in which I can take on a moderate amount of distance, for my leisurely walk along the ocean's edge.  Lastly, you can never go wrong with a bright pop of color in an accessory to add to a simple outfit.
